‘Human Barbie Doll’ Jessica Alves comes out as sapiosexual

Social media influencer Jessica Alves has opened up about her sexuality in a new interview.

On 13 June, the former Celebrity Big Brother star – who came out as trans in 2020 – appeared on This Morning with Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard to discuss her emotional plastic surgery journey.

“It’s been a very long journey. It’s been very painful, very expensive [and] difficult to those around me as well, like my family and friends, each time I decided, ‘Okay, I need another surgery,’” she explained.

While Alves admitted to having an intense relationship with plastic surgery, she proudly revealed that her time under the knife has come to an end.

“I really don’t need anything else. I had everything that I could possibly do under the sun. There’s no space for anything else here,” she explained.

In addition to her cosmetic news, Alves shared a major life update regarding her sexuality, revealing that she is sapiosexual while discussing her dream partner.

A person who identifies as sapiosexual is someone who is attracted to intelligence before appearance or gender.

According to Verywell Mind, an individual who identifies as sapiosexual could be part of the LGBTQIA+ community or heterosexual.

Toward the end of her statement, Alves gave further insight into her identity, adding: “So basically, I’m attracted to intelligent minds. You can be as good-looking as you are, painted in gold, but if you don’t got a brain…”

Shortly after her interview went live, fans flocked to Alves’ Instagram comments to shower her with support.

One person wrote: “I hope you find what you’re looking for. You deserve.”

Another fan commented: “Me represented… demi and sapiosexual.”

Alves isn’t the only celebrity to come out as sapiosexual.

Back in September 2019, music producer Mark Ronson revealed that he identified with the term during an appearance on Good Morning Britain (GMB).

“I feel like I am identifying as sapiosexual. Yeah, I didn’t know that there was a word for it,” he revealed.

“We were all arguing backstage in the dressing room with a couple of your producers. And yes, I feel like I am identifying as sapiosexual.”

However, a few weeks after his interview, the ‘Uptown Funk’ artist clarified his statement in an interview with Rolling Stone.

“I do not consider myself part of any marginalised community, and I apologise if anybody misunderstood or took offence to it,” he told the publication.
