Get ready for the biggest LGBTQIA+ night of the year! Here’s all the information you need ahead of this year’s GAY TIMES Honours 2023.
GAY TIMES Honours 2023 presented by SKITTLES returns for a seventh year to recognise individuals and organisations that have a profound impact on the lives of LGBTQIA+ people. We will be supporting, celebrating and platforming queer people doing impactful, revolutionary and incredible work within the community today, shining a spotlight on the queer pioneers of tomorrow, as well as honouring those who have paved the way.
But if you think this is just another awards show in the showbiz calendar, think again. This will be the most vibrant and queer show out there, showcasing talent and voices that challenge the status quo.
As you can probably already tell, we’re very excited about what’s in store for GAY TIMES Honours 2023 and you should be too. Why? Because once again it’s open to everyone. To find out who will be performing on the night, what you can expect from the show, and what the dress code is, read on to find out everything you need to know about the queer event you need to be at this year.
Where is GAY TIMES Honours 2023 taking place?
We will be returning to our event home at Magazine London for another year for a glorious night of queer excellence. The massive space – which is based right next to North Greenwich tube station – is backdropped by the city skyline and will play host to a huge stage for our performances, as well as bars and installations. Magazine London is the sister venue to Printworks, so you can expect the party to really kick off when our very special DJ takes to the decks for our GAY TIMES Honours 2023 celebrations.
When will GAY TIMES Honours 2023 take place?
General Admission guests: our huge celebration will kick start at 8:30pm for our general admission guests on 17 November. VIP guests: please refer to your invite for timings.
What is the theme for GAY TIMES Honours 2023?
GAY TIMES Honours is an immersive celebration of queer culture with installations and photo moments throughout the venue. This year’s theme will transport guests to Queertopia, a safe space where queer joy can flourish.
Guests will get to explore a queer destination of celebration, unity, and playful wonder. The night is all about creating a wonderland for self-expression and celebration of everything that makes people queer and how this impacts culture and the community.
Who will be performing at GAY TIMES Honours 2023?
Now we’ve got the theme settled, it’s time for the big news — the performers. We’ve previously played host to an incredible lineup of performers – from Tove Lo to Cat Burns – and this year we’ve another round of outstanding artists, inspirational honourees, community leaders and VIP guests.
Grammy, Emmy, 2x Tony award and now GAY TIMES Honouree, Billy Porter, will be performing iconic hits along with his trailblazing new record “Children” feat. Lady Blackbird. Porter will also be receiving the Outstanding Impact Award at GAY TIMES Honours 2023 following an amazing career spanning decades of activism and creativity
British rising star Fred Roberts will take to the stage for a special set, performing his newly released music including his hit single ‘Runaway’.
We will also party into the early hours with a DJ set from American hyperpop star Slayyyter and cross-genre Sudanese-American artist Dua Saleh who is known for their electric music and breakthrough acting role on Netflix’s Sex Education.
There will be special performances from Classical Pride, Australian DJ HAAi, London-based DJ and producer TSHA and a whole host of community collectives and performers. But that’s not all… we have further announcements to come soon.
Who will be the host for GAY TIMES Honours 2023?
Author and former Radio 1 DJ Nick Grimshaw will be taking over the stage in style. Expect plenty of laughs and on-stage charisma like no other.
Who will be the winners at GAY TIMES Honours 2023?
We will be honouring queer people who have done incredible things over the past 12 months in the world of activism, music, drag, television and more. Our winners will be with us on the evening to celebrate in style at Magazine London.
How can I get tickets to GAY TIMES Honours 2023?
GAY TIMES Honours is created by the community for the community. We will be celebrating spectacular voices in queer culture and activism. Tickets for the event are free. General admission tickets will be available now via Universe and can be ordered by clicking here.
There will be a £10 donation to Amplifund, a philanthropic initiative created by GAY TIMES in partnership with the award-winning LGBTQIA+ human rights charity GiveOut. Amplifund aims to amplify queer voices to global audiences and support LGBTQIA+ activists around the world in their campaigning and media work.
The initiative has supported LGBTQIA+ causes in Jamaica, Iraq and Armenia in recent years, helping empower local communities to continue the vital work they do.
What’s the dress code for GAY TIMES Honours 2023?
This isn’t your traditional black-tie event – we’re queer so it’s only natural we challenge the status quo. Therefore the dress code is simply your best self! If you want to lean into the theme of Queertopia, a safe space where Queer Joy can flourish, we are here for it.
How do I get to Magazine London for GAY TIMES Honours 2023?
Getting to Magazine London is accessible on the tube. North Greenwich station is less than a 5-minute walk away, meaning you can get there via the Jubilee line. As for getting there by bus, the 129, 132, 161, 188, 422, 472, and 486 stop at North Greenwich station. There is also the option to arrive via car or taxi, but be aware that it is close to the O2 Arena and you should anticipate delays with traffic so give yourself plenty of time.
Is there anything else I need to know?
This event is 18+ so you must bring a valid photographic ID. This venue is fully wheelchair accessible.

Please report anyone who displays body/gender negative behaviour to staff. Any transphobia, misogyny, racism, body shaming, ableism, drunk and disorderly behaviour and physical violence are not tolerated in any form.
