Drag Race UK star Vicki Vivacious is recovering following “serious crash”

Drag Race UK Vicki Vivacious has opened up about the “serious crash” she endured on Saturday (3 August).

On 8 August, the beloved drag performer took to her Instagram story to reveal the news in a statement.

“Hello everyone! Sorry for the radio silence. On Saturday, I was involved in a serious crash, and currently resting at home after short hospitalisation,” she wrote in the expired post.

“I can not go into to many details for legal reasons, but I am alive and recovering well. The biggest thank you to all close friends and family that have taken care of me.”

Toward the end of her statement, Vicki thanked the venues she had to cancel for understanding, adding: “If I haven’t contacted you, that means I will be with you as planned.”

Vicki first made waves with Drag Race enthusiasts when she strutted into the werkroom for the fifth season of the popular UK spinoff.

During her time on the series, the Cornwall-based queen dazzled with her showstopping runway looks and her performances in most of the maxi-challenges.

Unfortunately, her time in the competition came to an end after her impression of late restaurant critic, Fanny Cradock, failed to wow RuPaul and the judges’ panel.

A few weeks before Vicki’s shocking crash news,  her Drag Race franchise peers – Morphine Love Dion and Kaos – made headlines for a separate car accident in Los Angeles, California.

According to a report from Entertainment Weekly, the incident – which left one person dead – occurred on the 10 freeway in the early hours of 21 July.

“Morphine was in a serious car accident while in an Uber. She suffered multiple injuries but is grateful to be alive,” a rep for Morphine wrote via her Instagram story.

“Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers. Some space and time is appreciated as she focuses on healing.”

Kaos echoed similar sentiments in her own story, writing: “Just so everyone knows I am ok just been on bed rest. I will be making a post explaining what happened this weekend once I am in the right headspace and also can explain it all and the accident.”

“For now resting and sorry won’t be posting any dragcon stuff right now either that will come later prob next week!”

On 29 July, Morphine returned to Instagram with an update about her recovery, revealing that she suffered a fractured collarbone and broke her jaw.

We hope for a speedy recovery for Vicki Vivacious.
