Danny Beard reveals if she’ll return for the next Drag Race winners’ season

Danny Beard has commented on whether she’d like to return to Drag Race for another winners-only season.

The franchise launched its first season consisting solely of champions earlier this year with Jaida Essence Hall, Jinkx Monsoon, Monét X Change, Raja, Shea Couleé, Trinity the Tuck, The Vivienne and Yvie Oddly sashaying back into the werkroom.

Thanks to the sheer amount of charisma, uniqueness, nerve and talent, RuPaul’s decision to not send any of the queens home and the lack of negative remarks from the judging panel, All Stars 7 has since been hailed as one of the greatest seasons in Drag Race herstory.

Although it’s been minutes since Jinkx Monsoon became the inaugural ‘Queen Of All Queens’ and the first two-time Drag Race champion, viewers have been speculating as to when the next all-winners’ season will take place (and which iconic queens will make a comeback).

With this in mind, we asked Drag Race UK season four winner Danny Beard if she’d ever compete for another crown and title.

“Listen, you can never say never to these things,” Danny told GAY TIMES.

“But, give me some time to make some money because something like All Winners, you need to be spending the dollar, hun, and I need to make the dollar. I haven’t had the heating on. I’m freezing ‘ere. Saving money. Cost of living crisis.”

Danny memorably made history as the first-ever bearded queen on a season of Drag Race hosted by RuPaul, and the franchise’s first-ever bearded champion.

Over the course of 10 weeks, Danny cemented her status as one of the most formidable contestants of all time with four RuPeter Badges and zero spells in the bottom two (or three, for that matter).

Discussing the future of alternative drag on the series, Danny explained: “I said it last night straight after they put this really heavy crown on my head, actually – my neck’s killing – and I said, ‘I hope this means that in the very near future, we see drag kings on there and more diverse drag.’

“Listen, I’m not the best bearded queen in the world. It’s quite subtle until you get close and you notice it, and that’s my thing. I like that. But, there’s so many different kinds of drag. It’s not just about gay men in dresses, and it shouldn’t be. Drag is about being anything you wanna be. It should be open to anyone.”

Following her win, Danny released a cover of Crystal Waters’ classic deep house track, Gypsy Woman (She’s Homeless), which is available now on iTunes and streaming services.

“Right now, I’ve got more gigs in London this weekend and then we fly straight up to Scotland to do a full UK Christmas tour, Shantay You Sleigh,” Danny added.

“Tickets are on sale – I know this is a shameless plug, but I’d love people to come and see it.”
